Tiffani Stevenson Lloyd & Associates opened in March of 2010 and was located in Rockville, Maryland (off Montrose Road). Back then it called Tiffani Stevenson, LLC and Tiffani was the only therapist in the practice. Opening this private practice was a way that she could do both clinical work and continue her research and doctoral education about families and marriage at the University of Maryland.
In the practice Tiffani worked with couples and families of various backgrounds and
concerns. At UMD she taught child development, supervised students in the couples and family therapy Master’s program, and researched the importance/impact of marriage for fragile families.
As the practice grew, so did her obligations to her doctoral work and her new family. To accommodate these changes, Tiffani hired Rachel Chazen in the winter of 2011 to join as an associate therapist. It was then that the name of the practice changed to Tiffani Stevenson Lloyd & Associates (TSL&A). Tiffani and Rachel worked together until the end of 2011. When Rachel left to pursue other opportunities, Tiffani hired Ciara Dresser. By the middle of 2012, the practice had grown enough to hire another associate, Ashley Munger.
Ash joined in time for Tiffani to take a brief maternity leave, after having her first child. Ashley and Ciara ran the practice beautifully for a few months and TSL&A continued to grow steadily after Tiffani returned to work.
The group remained the same for several years, until the early spring of 2014, when Karen Woodson was hired. Karen was hired just in time for Tiffani to graduate with her doctorate degree (six days after having her second child). Tiffani again took another short break from the practice while Karen, Ciara, and Ashley continued on. At the beginning of 2015, after almost 3 years in the practice, Ash left to advance her career in academia. Several months later, in May 2015, Karen relocated and opened up her own private practice in the mid-west.
Shortly thereafter, Ryan Blick (spring of 2015) and Brittany Colton (summer of 2015) joined TSL&A. Each associate was an excellent addition to the group — bringing a wide range of skill and experience to offer clients.
By February of 2016, TSL&A had outgrown its office space in Rockville and moved to a new and improved office in the “Kensington Therapy Center” (in Kensington). The entire practice took on a face lift — with a brand new logo, marketing materials, and webpage.
Growth continued steadily, and so for a brief period in 2016, Jackie Magidson worked as an associate therapist and in June of 2015, Kendra Woolstenhulme joined TSL&A.
In the early summer of 2016, after almost 4 years in the practice, Ciara left the practice to pursue other career opportunities. Today, Tiffani, Brittany, Ryan and Kendra provide quality mental healthcare to all their clients and aim to consistently communicate love, respect, and professionalism. The hope is that Tiffani Stevenson Lloyd & Associates will continue to serve the communities of Washington metropolitan area for years to come.
